" As Western cultures continue to influence Kenya and our youth increasingly move away from using our native languages, I feel a deep responsibility to help preserve our rich cultural heritage. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I am committed to creating an organisation dedicated to this cause, ensuring that our traditions and languages are cherished and passed down to future generations. "

"Muusi Nguutu Nzyoka is an anthropology student at the University of Nairobi, driven by a profound passion for cultural preservation, social justice, and community empowerment. His deep curiosity about human societies and commitment to safeguarding Indigenous knowledge systems have shaped his journey as both a scholar and an advocate for social change. As a natural storyteller, Muusi refined his narrative skills while working as a content writer at Couture Africa, where he learned to craft impactful stories that resonate with diverse audiences. His leadership abilities shine through his role as Treasurer for the University of Nairobi Anthropology and Gender Students Association, where he has demonstrated exceptional organisational and collaborative skills.

Guided by his vision of a more inclusive world, Muusi co-founded the Tendet Foundation, a youth-led organisation dedicated to preserving Indigenous knowledge systems and empowering local communities. Through this initiative, he actively champions cultural preservation, climate justice, and gender equality, working hand-in-hand with Indigenous communities to address systemic inequalities. His unwavering commitment to social impact and his ability to bridge cultural understanding with strategic action underscore his dedication to driving meaningful change and building resilient, empowered communities."
