" Leadership is a skill that when we'll nurtured is a tool that pushes the society a step ahead. A leader should have the potential to meet the evolving society at the point of their need and not his/ her own, negotiate on behalf of society and negotiate with society to make an impact.
This very skills I believe can be nurtured by the fellowship. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: HPV Awareness Project For Adolescent Girls

My cohort and I have all at one point or another been to the Kenyatta National Hospital wards. We have all witnessed a lot of cervical cancer cases causing significant morbidity and mortality to women. We felt that a significant percentage of this was very preventable and we decided to start a project that involves talking to female adolescents aged 10-13 in the KNH pediatric ward and their caregivers and teaching them easy to understand ways of preventing such.
The project entails educating them about HPV, cervical cancer and the vaccines available. We also have future plans to expand the project to schools and homes around our environment and hope to reach more women.
