" Fashion has always been my first love, but I've realized how easily it can become a
trap of mindless consumerism. Through my project, Garment Renaissance, I aim to
transform this personal struggle into a force for positive change. By promoting clothing
reuse, repurposing, and raising awareness about sustainable fashion choices, I hope to
inspire others to break free from the cycle of overconsumption. As a Millennium Fellow,
I'm excited to help people rediscover the joy of creativity in fashion while nurturing
both our mental health and our planet. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Garment Renaissance
Garment Renaissance is a project that focuses on reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable fashion practices through clothing donation, textile recycling, and raising awareness about sustainable consumption. We collect unwanted garments, donate them, repurpose them into new products like bags and accessories, and provide educational workshops on reducing fashion waste. We do this by organizing donation drives, collaborating with local artisans, and engaging the community to rethink how we consume fashion.
