" I have always wanted to associate myself with people who understand humanity and bright minds. People who can view the world differently and aim to achieve the positives. I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to socialize with a team of bright minds, each with a unique perspective and a shared passion for making a meaningful impact. Together, we can harness our collective knowledge, creativity, and determination to tackle the pressing challenges faced by girls and young women in Kenya and across Africa. This opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals is truly inspiring, and I am eager to embark on this journey of learning, growth, and positive change "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Digital Literacy For All

We are working on a Project on Digital Literacy which aligns well with SDG number 4 'Quality Education.' We therefore conduct training workshops to the underserved communities of East Africa. This project aims to empower the marginalized communities by training them on how to enhance digital skills, promote online safety, foster digital citizenship and create access to educational technologies. With this project, we aim to empower participants to navigate the online landscape confidently and safely, and also increase job searches for the youths, enrolment in free online courses, search for scholarships, and create awareness on the best ways and platforms to start and market a business online.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hellen Wambui Nderitu is a determined and compassionate Kenyan woman, driven by a deep desire to empower the girls and young women of her country. Born and raised in Kenya, she has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by the girl child, particularly the devastating impacts of poverty and lack of access to education.
Fueled by her own educational achievements, Hellen has made it her mission to pave the way for a brighter future for Kenyan girls. She tirelessly advocates for the provision of sanitary towels and fights against the scourge of early marriage, barriers that have long hindered the progress of young women.
Hellen's vision extends beyond the borders of Kenya, as she dreams of traveling the world to amplify the voices of African girls, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and break the cycle of poverty. With her unwavering determination and compassionate spirit, Hellen is a true inspiration, dedicated to transforming the lives of girls and young women across the continent.
