University of the People | Global, United States | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 3 & UNAI 3

" The main reason I feel excited to be part of the Millennium Fellowship is the fact that this Fellowship sparks the ability to lead and find courage in turning my ideas into action. Additionally, it amplifies the voices of other young people who are committed in making various changes in different sectors. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Digital Literacy For All
We are working on a Project on Digital Literacy which aligns well with SDG number 4 'Quality Education.' We therefore conduct training workshops to the underserved communities of East Africa. This project aims to empower the marginalized communities by training them on how to enhance digital skills, promote online safety, foster digital citizenship and create access to educational technologies. With this project, we aim to empower participants to navigate the online landscape confidently and safely, and also increase job searches for the youths, enrolment in free online courses, search for scholarships, and create awareness on the best ways and platforms to start and market a business online.
