Millennium Fellowship Project: Digital Literacy For All

We are working on a Project on Digital Literacy which aligns well with SDG number 4 'Quality Education.' We therefore conduct training workshops to the underserved communities of East Africa. This project aims to empower the marginalized communities by training them on how to enhance digital skills, promote online safety, foster digital citizenship and create access to educational technologies. With this project, we aim to empower participants to navigate the online landscape confidently and safely, and also increase job searches for the youths, enrolment in free online courses, search for scholarships, and create awareness on the best ways and platforms to start and market a business online.

About the Millennium Fellow

Margaret Mogute is a middle aged and globally competitive pre- Business Administration student at the university of the People in the United States. She was born in Kenya resides in Kenya currently studying in the Uopeople University online., a citizen of the world. Margaret has always been passionate about her advocacy for social justice; poverty ,women rights, children rights. This drive and ardour translates margaret's experience in international community and continues dedication to social action. She has successfully organized philanthropic projects and social injustice movements; which through her outstanding leadership she plans to continue in the future. Margaret aspires to be in the professional field whe she can cultivate these advocacy and further provide her own contributions in developing of United Nations sustainable goals.Skip to Main Content

Millennium Fellowship Project: SHUstainable Human Settlements and Resources
SHUstainable Human Settlements and Resources (SHSR) is a group of students from various disciplines dedicated to researching, educating, and impacting their local community and interested in achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) #11 Sustainable Cities. SHSR functions as a three-part project focusing on research, outreach, and cleanup. The first section consisted of students conducting research on the anthropogenic effects of the local city on our environment. Research focused on water, air, infrastructure, and other human-related environmental issues as well as the political and socio-economic effects of the issue. The team has conducts research on how cities impact our environment and the subsequent socio-cultural and political effects, and have moveed into phase two. Phase two consists of educating the local community as well as government officials with the hopes of making long-term changes that will produce more sustainable cities. The education process revolves around spreading information to local community groups, schools, and government. For part three, all students will lead a community cleanup that is open to all of Seton Hill University.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ariana Scott is senior political science and sociology student at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA, USA. Ari is passionate about how the individual can have an impact on the world around them through social and political actions. As a Pittsburgh native, much of her education focused on the region's role in the industrial revolution in the US. Through her project, she hopes to help the region become a forerunner in sustainability. After she graduates, Ari plans to earn a master's degree in international development and work in a field regarding human security.
