" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it provides a platform to amplify my commitment to improving healthcare for women in India. I believe that empowering women through accessible and quality healthcare is not just a necessity but a catalyst for broader societal change. By addressing the unique health challenges they face, we can unlock their full potential and drive progress for communities and the nation as a whole. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Helping Women with HIV/AIDS in Rural India

This is an organization started by someone I respect and admire, and have known for a long time. She started the foundation with the hope of providing a space for young women with HIV/AIDS, for them to live life. The aim of the foundation is to provide opportunities for girls to pursue their education, start small businesses, and promote entrepreneurship within them. Apart from providing them with a place to stay, the foundation ensures that any college tuition/expenses that need to be bore is done by them. The concept of promoting entrepreneurship is my contribution and is something I hope to expand within the foundation. By connecting them with industries like handicrafts/pottery etc. I believe there is potential for them to grow. They have already started distributing handmade purses/bags etc. on a small scale. There is potential to grow it into a full scale business and ensure that the foundation can self sustain.
