United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: GenRise Innovators

GenRise Innovators is a youth-led social impact initiative addressing key community challenges such as damaged infrastructure, limited sanitation access, and low school attendance. The initiative focuses on road repairs, toilet construction, hygiene promotion, and encouraging children to return to school.
Upcoming Activities:
In January 2025, the project will launch a basic computer skills training program for day school children. This initiative aims to reduce inequality by equipping students with essential digital skills, preparing them to compete in the digital world and fostering educational and technological empowerment.

About the Millennium Fellow

Aime Ishimwe is a committed medical student at the University of Rwanda with a deep passion for healthcare, education, and technology. Inspired by the generosity he received at a younger age, Aime is dedicated to volunteering and making a meaningful impact in his community. He aspires to become a global health leader and change maker, with a focus on advocating for improvements in healthcare and education. Aime's ultimate goal is to play a pivotal role in advancing equitable access to quality resources and opportunities for all.
