United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

" Social impact work, team working, connection, society transformation are on my top of to do list. Being a millennium fellow will help ne enhance my skills in these areas because it will help me get more time to involve in such activities. Through, community impact projects, I'll enhance my skills in society transformation as well as getting experience to cooperate with other people such as my fellows. Nevertheless, being a Millennium Fellowship will help me improve my network through connecting with my current fellows, alumni and the staff. I have no doubt that, Millennium Fellowship will have a very positive impact to me and the fellowship itself. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Feeding Street Children
The "Helping Street Children" project is a comprehensive initiative designed to address the multifaceted challenges faced by street children through a holistic approach that combines immediate support, educational empowerment, and community reintegration. The project aims to provide essential services including nutrition, healthcare, safe shelter, and psychological support for children aged 5-18, with a particular focus on unaccompanied minors and those from extreme poverty backgrounds. By implementing strategic outreach programs, protection services, and skill development workshops, the project seeks to build trust, offer educational opportunities, and create pathways for long-term improvement in these children's lives. Key intervention strategies include mobile support teams, legal advocacy, trauma-informed care, life skills training, and collaborative partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders. The ultimate goals are to reduce vulnerability, increase school enrollment, enhance employability, and facilitate positive community reintegration, ultimately offering street children hope, support, and tangible opportunities for a better future.
About the Millennium Fellow
Devis SHEMA is a Rwandese male aged 20. Holds responsible and self motivated to cooperate with all the assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. He is a student at the university of Rwanda- Huye campus pursuing a bachelor of business administration with honors in accounting and corporate finance. A dedicated and motivated young professional with an exemplary academic achievements. He has strong communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with fellows. A very effective team player and able to interact with the people of diverse backgrounds. Looking forward to cooperating with you in all the activities and being a very positive asset to the millennium team towards bringing the positive influence to the entire world, particularly our communities.
