Millennium Fellowship Project: Feeding Street Children
The "Helping Street Children" project is a comprehensive initiative designed to address the multifaceted challenges faced by street children through a holistic approach that combines immediate support, educational empowerment, and community reintegration. The project aims to provide essential services including nutrition, healthcare, safe shelter, and psychological support for children aged 5-18, with a particular focus on unaccompanied minors and those from extreme poverty backgrounds. By implementing strategic outreach programs, protection services, and skill development workshops, the project seeks to build trust, offer educational opportunities, and create pathways for long-term improvement in these children's lives. Key intervention strategies include mobile support teams, legal advocacy, trauma-informed care, life skills training, and collaborative partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders. The ultimate goals are to reduce vulnerability, increase school enrollment, enhance employability, and facilitate positive community reintegration, ultimately offering street children hope, support, and tangible opportunities for a better future.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ferdinand Hashimwimana is a man of interect devoted for a common Good, which is a rare thing, a rare thing.
Throughout my journey, I have been working tirelessly as volunteer partnering with small and big organizations that work for the benefits young people in my rural village. Due to harsh life in my community since the marginalized youth is huge, I have worked hard to make sure that I set-up a powerhouse like project which aims to sharpen the young minds and keep their dreams active for the betterment of their future.
Against all odds, I will try hard to empower my project for it to be able to comply with its mission and vision
