" "I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a unique platform to amplify my work in empowering young refugees through education. I do this work because I believe that quality education is the foundation for breaking barriers and creating lasting, positive change in marginalized communities." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: IGA Initiative
The IGA initiative aims to empower young refugees in Rwanda by addressing challenges such as limited access to education, training, and connectivity they face. Central to this effort is "Iga", an innovative online platform providing essential skills and globally recognized certificates sponsored by international organizations. These certifications aim to increase the employability potential of refugees, ensuring they remain competitive and self-reliant, even if they relocate. Through partnerships with organizations like UNHCR, WorldVision and Education in Emergency Africa, the project offers high-quality education and resources to foster sustainable growth and self-sufficiency.
