United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 52,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2024 on 6,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 280+ campuses worldwide (just 5%) were selected to host the 4,000+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: The DreamGirl Project

The DreamGirl Project was aimed at reaching out to girls in 4 secondary schools in my local community to talk to them about career choices, self development, menstrual hygiene, reproductive health as well as self breast examination to detect changes in breast contour to make the breast cancer awareness month. We were accompanied by the President of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Branch as well as the Welfare Chairman of the association.

About the Millennium Fellow

Edidiong Offong is an intelligent, young and smart final year medical student at the University of Uyo teaching hospital, Uyo. She was born in Uyo, Akwa ibom state and is a citizen of Nigeria. Edidiong is passionate about human rights, social justice and good health. This drives her to study medicine and continuously dedicate herself to social and human right actions. Currently in her college years, she has successfully participated in various philanthropic projects and medical outreaches. She is a prayer leader in her church choir. She aspires to be a professional in her field of study, impact as many lives as possible and provide her contribution in the development of United Nation's Sustainable Goals.
