Millennium Fellowship Project: The DreamGirl Project

The DreamGirl Project was aimed at reaching out to girls in 4 secondary schools in my local community to talk to them about career choices, self development, menstrual hygiene, reproductive health as well as self breast examination to detect changes in breast contour to make the breast cancer awareness month. We were accompanied by the President of the Medical Women Association of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Branch as well as the Welfare Chairman of the association.

About the Millennium Fellow

Joseph Emmanuel Umoh is a young, vibrant and an excellent medical student at University of uyo. He was born and raised in Nigeria where he also resides. He is currently pursuing his MBBS bachelor degree in medicine and Surgery at the prestigious University of Uyo, Nigeria. Joseph has an uncanny ability to contribute his quotas to make the world a better place. As a medical student, Joseph demonstrates strong love for learning as well as a level of commitment necessary to succeed in college and beyond.
His desire to study medicine and surgery is a direct reflection of his childhood dream of reducing the rate of spread of disease in his home town and hence bringing an end to high mortality rate in that locality. His experiences during his preteen age and secondary school also played a vital role in fine-tuning and fueling these yearnings. He is very corrigible, amiable and able to successfully work in a group. He believes so much in hard work and excellence and has tried his best to make these tangible traits part of him over the years. He's developed an excellent work ethics, dedicated and enthusiastic individual with a great penchant and flair for people, team work and motivation. Aside academics, Joseph frequently volunteers in various capacities to different international organizations, contributing his delectable qualities and ideas. He is really passionate and enthusiastic when it comes to health oriented issues, as well as the blend of technology with these health centered issues. It was in view of this that he majored in medicine and surgery in which he is still on a fast lane to become not just a medical practitioner but a medical doctor with so much difference and become a force in the global stage.
