Millennium Fellowship Project: Solar DC Bird Deterrent device

Rural farmers rely on cereal farming to support their families and sell the surplus for income generation, however their farming lands are prone to invasion by birds which decrease their harvest. The Solar DC Bird Deterrent device is a sustainable solution for rural wheat farmers, who mostly rely on harmful chemicals and less efficient visual Deterrents like scarecrows to Deterr birds. The device is capable of detecting birds that fly into the field and activates, deterring mechanisms (flashing LEDs, flapping motion of servo motor flags and a sound library consisting of natural predator sounds and large mechanical noises). The device is solar powered and have backup batteries in cases of solar energy shortages.
