About the Millennium Fellow

Thomas Hogarty is an attentive, thoughtful, and intellectually curious undergrad student at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. He was born just outside West Philadelphia and grew up fascinated with the socioeconomic dynamics of his working-class community and the social disparities within and around Philadelphia. For as long as he can remember, Thomas has been passionate about behavioral economics, policy, and leadership. Throughout his high school years, Thomas took on many leadership roles as Principal's Representative, Homeroom Peer Mentor, Chess Club President, and Soccer Captain while exceling within the classroom. In 2022, he matriculated to the University of Maryland where he studies Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and participated in an honors program in Public Leadership, before transferring to Vanderbilt University. He is currently an Honors Thesis Candidate and Researcher for Vanderbilt Department of Economics, is VP of a finance organization on campus, and an active member of Greek Life and the broader Vanderbilt community.
