" I have the skills of collaborative innovation and a pursuit for sustainability which motivates me to become a Millennium fellow.I am very much excited to join this class and mark a small step towards achieveing our goals. Our project "Mental health awareness " is a very crucial issue in our vicinity and it is important to address it. As a student living under the same circumstances we can exactly depict what is wrong and by innovative collaboration might find a solution to it. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Hearts and Minds Initiative

The Millennium Fellowship project undertaken by our cohort focuses on addressing one of the most pressing issues among youngsters today: high levels of stress, mental health struggles, and the alarming rate of suicides. Despite the availability of mental health resources, a significant gap persists—students often remain unaware of existing helplines and support systems. Recognizing this gap, our project aims to bridge it by creating awareness, fostering conversations around mental well-being, and connecting students with the help they need.
Through interactive and engaging mental health awareness sessions, we addressed the challenges faced by students, especially those preparing for exams and navigating the complexities of peer pressure. By equipping them with practical stress management tools and fostering a culture of empathy and emotional support, we aspire to create a lasting impact on their mental health and well-being.
Our initiative extends beyond in-person sessions, with the development of a blog site for VNIT students to share their experiences and access professional mental health resources. This platform aims to normalize discussions about mental health and ensure that no student feels alone in their struggles.
With the support of the Millennium Fellowship program, we are committed to creating a safer, more supportive environment for students to thrive emotionally and academically.
