Xi'An Jiaotong-Liverpool University | Suzhou, China | Advancing SDG 5, SDG 17 & UNAI 6

" Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship can broaden my international perspective, strengthen my leadership and collaborative innovation ability. At the same time, what I do during my tenure at the Millennium Institute can strengthen the community's concern for the ecological environment and make my impact on society and the university more tangible. On the other hand, the reason why I do this job is that I have actually seen the bad Marine ecological environment and the severe problem of Marine life protection, which I have felt through participating in the volunteer activity of protecting Chongming Dongtan. Meanwhile, this topic is aligned with the principles of the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals, I am excited to contribute to the development of the world's Marine environment and Marine life through new ways of learning and innovation through the Millennium Fellows. Millennium Fellowship Project: “She” and “He” Should Be The Same
The project titled "She" and "He" Should Be the Same aims to investigate and address gender discrimination in the workplace, particularly within the context of Suzhou and the XJTLU community. The project utilizes a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research to gather comprehensive data on gender-based discrimination, including pay gaps, career advancement challenges, and workplace culture. The findings will be used to develop practical solutions and recommendations for both educational institutions and businesses to promote gender equality and support female employees. The project also seeks to raise awareness, foster dialogue, and advocate for policy changes to create a more inclusive work environment.
