" While my studies and work history may have provided me with first-hand experience, I have never encountered such a concentration of skills relevant to my future as I have with the Millennium Fellowship. I am most looking forward to being a part of a community of like-minded individuals who are similarly impassioned to learn and grow. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Climate Conversations Collective

The Climate Conversations Collective is designed to work with teachers and provide socially- and emotionally-minded climate education for themselves and their students. Effectively, the CCC solves both issues (poor education systems and climate instruction) in one fell swoop. Once a teacher connected with us, the CCC would work with them on three main challenges: the most prominent social-emotional problems in the school, the relevant environmental factors (i.e. pollution, extreme weather, lack of green space) in the area, and the existing curriculum. The CCC and the teacher would have a conversation about these factors, and then the CCC would design a packet of resources relevant to them and their students. These resources would include an analysis of climate change in the school’s location, prompts for community-based discussions, and recommendations for the teacher’s existing curriculum. Furthermore, the resources would be designed by local climate nonprofits and experienced educators.
