Millennium Fellowship Project: Project EnCOR

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been an artist. Performing is second nature to me, and I’ve experienced firsthand the impact that art can have on life. But when I learned about climate change, I was terrified by the prospect of losing this world that I had fallen in love with through art. Arriving at college, I set out to bridge these two passions. So far, our team has hosted an environmental print making contest and fundraiser, and environmental benefit concert, and organized musical performances for environmental events. Going forward, I strive to partner with the student record label to promote environmentalism through recorded art.

About the Millennium Fellow

Rose Hansen (she/her), Yale Class of ‘25 and former co-president of the Yale Student Environmental Coalition, is the founder of Project EnCOR, an organization that unites art with environmentalism to catalyze change. After working with the partner of Vineyard Wind, America’s first commercial-scale offshore wind project, she became passionate about the deployment of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. She followed this passion to COP 28, where she supported a World Bank executive as well as Coral Vita, a coral conservation startup out of Yale School of the Environment. After the conference, Rose worked as an intern with the Woodwell Climate Research Center investigated Article 6 and its international implications. At YCELP, Rose works on the Sustainability Thought Leaders project as well as a researcher and creator for the the YCELP podcast. When she is not working on environmental issues, Rose can be found taking part in Yale’s vibrant performing arts scene.
