United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Cervical Cancer Awareness

Cervical Cancer Awareness, as the name implies is a community centered awareness and HPV vaccination initiative carried out by the Millennium Fellows of Abia State University. Our goal was to bridge the knowledge gap surrounding cervical cancer and empower young girls with accurate information and increase the uptake of the HPV vaccine within our local community.

About the Millennium Fellow

Emmanuella Jonas is a driven and globally minded medical student from Nigeria with a passion for student empowerment, healthcare advancement, and financial literacy. For as long as she can remember, she has been deeply committed to creating opportunities that help young people thrive academically, professionally, and personally. Her dedication to impact has led her to organize transformative initiatives, including nationwide programs that equip medical students with practical skills for their careers and future. Combining expertise in data analysis, grant writing, and creative communication, Emmanuella envisions a future where her work bridges medicine, education, and sustainable community development, contributing meaningfully to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
