United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Gender Equality
This project focuses on quality education, empowering women, and promoting inclusive women leadership by serving the community, particularly women who find it difficult to afford sanitary pads and lack education about their menstrual period. The targeted audience was 20–50 participants. The project successfully distributed sanitary pads to selected students through an application link to manage overcrowding. Attendance exceeded expectations, with many students participating even without selection, highlighting strong interest and the need for greater mentor and resource support to reach and serve a larger audience in future programs.
About the Millennium Fellow
Aisha Saeed is a third-year medical student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with a strong passion for social impact and community development. Beyond the classroom, I am deeply committed to advancing gender equality, promoting environmental sustainability, and advocating for the education and empowerment of women and the girl child. Growing up, I witnessed firsthand how inequality and limited access to education can hold back individuals and entire communities. This inspired me to become a voice for the voiceless.
Through my academic journey and advocacy work, I have learned the importance of leadership, empathy, and collaboration. I am excited about the opportunity to join the Millennium Fellowship to connect with like-minded peers, gain valuable leadership skills, and contribute meaningfully to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
