Millennium Fellowship Project: CyberShield Initiative
CyberShield Initiative serves underserved students and youths in Nigeria, especially those who lack access to structured digital literacy and cybersecurity education. These are individuals who are digitally curious but excluded due to economic limitations, poor infrastructure, or limited exposure.
The project equips them with foundational cybersecurity skills, digital safety awareness, and pathways into tech careers, empowering them to protect themselves online and participate in the future digital economy.
About the Millennium Fellow
Jonathan Kyom, widely known as Jax, is a Computer Science student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, driven by a mission to make cybersecurity skills accessible to everyone. Growing up in Northern Nigeria, he saw how lack of digital awareness leaves communities vulnerable. This inspired him to start the CyberShield Initiative, training students and youths to protect themselves online and explore careers in tech. Blending technical expertise with a passion for mentorship, Jax is committed to building a future where knowledge is power and safety is universal.
