" I am excited to become a part of a global network of young change makers, to collaborate and share ideas on how we can promote the Sustainable Development Goals as one community. I am more excited about my project which aligns with my goals and I intend to make the most of this opportunity to promote public health more effectively and efficiently in my community. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Storytelling for Health
Storytelling for Health (SFH) aims at using the creative means to simplify public health concepts and interact better with members of the community. It has been realized that one of the problems which limit the effectiveness of awareness campaigns is the connection of the message with people, and over time, storytelling has proven to be an amazing technique to convey messages. Malaria, Antimicrobial Resistance and other public health issues will be talked about through special community based storytelling workshops and sessions. These sessions will involve and immerse the people in these stories, raise awareness about the diseases, and also encourage them to become ambassadors of good health and well-being.
