" Change begins at the grassroots level, the Millennium Fellowship will provide my peers and me with the opportunity and the platform to organize projects that yield tangible results that can positively affect both our local and broader communities, while also preparing us for future action. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Women in Leadership

My project is inspired by UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality), and aims to expand access to books and education and empower female students to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.
The first component of the initiative is a lecture on gender equality and equal opportunities in the workplace. This event has the goal of inviting both female and male students to discuss and learn about gender-based challenges in the workplace and strategies individuals can use to overcome them. In collaboration with two fellow Millennium Fellows, the project also includes a book collection and donation campaign. This effort gathers textbooks and educational materials to distribute to students who have limited access to them due to financial, geographic or socioeconomic reasons. The goal is to ensure that all students, have access to the tools they need to succeed academically.
