" I believe in massive results when individuals with similar goals assemble.
I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it offers a platform to transform my passion for community health into tangible impact while connecting with like-minded change makers to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Save The Lungs in The Husk
Save the Lungs in the Husk is a group project led by Millennium Fellow Ebenyi Hyacinth Chibuike, which I have chosen to collaborate on. The project aims to address the respiratory health hazards that vulnerable women are exposed to at the Abakaliki ricemill while scavenging for grains in the husk from the milling factories.
The measurable goals I hope to accomplish between August and December 2025 are:
1. Educate the women on the risks of exposure and the protective measures they can take to safeguard their airways.
2. Draw support from government agencies and organizations to empower them through the provision of PPEs.
3. Engage with ricemill authorities on relevant policy adjustments that can be made to ensure sustainable occupational health for these women
