Millennium Fellowship Project: First Aid Training and Sex Education
The project is a health and educative focused project on first aid training and sex education This is based on sustainable development goals number 3 and 5 Good health and well being and gender equality Poor first aid practices in Nigeria and Sex education are some of the most neglected aspect of life in Nigeria which needs an unprejudiced approach As students, we understand the importance of first aid and sex education in the society. AIMS OR GOALS OF OUR PROJECTS 1 General public enlightenment on proper first aid administration and sex education . 2. Organize seminars both in rural and urban areas to teach people about first aid interventions . 3. Organize school outreaches, targeting minimum of 4000 students 4. Public sensitization about rape, sex trafficking, early marriage and forced sexual practices METHODS OF ACHIEVING OUR PROJECTS 1. Organize secondary school outreaches, visiting at least one school per month. 2. Road walks and campaigns against female mutilation, rape and early marriage 3 Market outreaches to enlighten the public on the importance of first aid and sex education 4 Donate first aid kits and contraceptives to schools and communities 5. Social media awareness campaigns 6. Collaborating with health workers
About the Millennium Fellow
Oselumehse Chidiebere Beckley is a young and free-spirited 4th-year medical student at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, who enjoys spending time with friends and family, is committed to advancing gender equality and promoting quality health education. Proudly rooted in her community yet engaged with global conversations, Oselumehse has dedicated herself to creating lasting impact through advocacy and service by successfully organizing numerous health outreaches and advocacy events, bringing essential healthcare and awareness to underserved populations. Her leadership and dedication are exemplified in her current role as the South East Regional Coordinator for the NiMSA Liaison Office to the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), where she works to advance healthcare and empower women in medicine. Oselumehse envisions a future where her advocacy reaches even greater heights, contributing meaningfully to achieving national and global Sustainable development goals.
