Millennium Fellowship Project: Inner Peace
Inner Peace is a project that seeks to improve the mental health of children and youths within the ages of 11-25. The aim of this project is to reduce cases of suicide and substance abuse in youths. This is to be achieved by holding talks and workshops across schools in my community.
About the Millennium Fellow
Somtochukwu Franklin Ihekaire is a smart, promising medical student at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ebonyi state, Nigeria. He was born in Nigeria, resides in Aba and is studying at Abakaliki, Nigeria. He has really had so much interest in the mental health of his community and he has really dedicated his time to study and dig deep into the process of making life better for people. For the past couple of years, he has participated in a number of mental health symposiums to help boost his skill and knowledge to tackle this problem. His immense drive and passion to solve this issue doesn't only come from experiences in his community but also personal experiences. He wishes to improve on his skills and become more tactical in the management of mental health in his community. He plans to play a crucial part in contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Goals as a citizen of the world.
