" Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of innovation, transforming industries and driving economic growth worldwide. However, Africa faces a significant challenge limited access to AI knowledge and resources, creating a gap in adoption and innovation. TAC is committed to bridging this divide by empowering individuals with AI skills, unlocking the immense potential of AI to address critical challenges and drive progress. I am excited to be a part of Millennium Fellowship because I get to shape my Idea and collaborate with like-minded fellows "
Millennium Fellowship Project: TAC
My project focuses on empowering young Africans with practical AI, Python, and digital skills through hands-on learning, mentorship, and collaborative community activities. The goal is to create accessible learning spaces where students can gain confidence, build real projects, and develop the skills needed to contribute to Africa’s technological growth.
During the Millennium Fellowship, my project successfully launched the ALU PyClub, creating a consistent and supportive learning space where students began learning Python through hands-on sessions. I also expanded my technical capacity by joining the Carnegie Mellon Bridge Program, which strengthened my knowledge and allowed me to teach others more effectively. My goal was to build an AI literacy and tech-learning community on campus, and I achieved this by establishing the PyClub, hosting beginner-friendly sessions, and engaging students who had never coded before.
