" "Born to be a creative, forced to work in STEM. As one who succumbed to the social pressures of the job market I'm working on finding a balance that helps me to chase my passion while ensuring that I leave a positive impact in the lives of those around me. The skills I gain from this fellowship will enable me to chase a more human-centered approach in achieving my goals aligned with the SDGs. I'm excited to envision new ways to bridge the gaps between science and humanities. "

About the Millennium Fellow

David Chukwuebuka Achibiri is a young and enthusiastic Software Engineering Student at the African Leadership University. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria in a small town and currently resides with his family in the country capital - Abuja. For as long as he can remember David has been enthusiastic about accessible healthcare and education, affording it to marginalised groups as a way of overcoming his health anxiety. As a queer person, he uses education to help marginalised groups navigate the intersections between health, sexuality, religion and culture. I aspire to use my software development skills to engineer digital solutions providing safe spaces for these people as well as making basic and emergency healthcare more accessible.
