" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to turn my experiences and passion for helping vulnerable communities into meaningful action, using innovation and leadership to create lasting impact for women, children, and refugees. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerHealth Africa Initiative
EmpowerHealth Africa is a visionary concept developed during the Millennium Fellowship. It is not yet a funded organization, but a future-oriented idea aimed at transforming healthcare access for women, girls, and children in refugee settlements and rural communities across Africa beginning with South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda.
The idea is rooted in real-life experiences of observing the struggles of pregnant women, young mothers, and vulnerable children in areas with extremely limited healthcare. Long travel distances, lack of trained staff, unsafe delivery environments, and preventable deaths inspired the development of this future initiative.
