" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because my journey has shown me that there is so much untapped brilliance in Africa that often goes unnoticed because of limited access to resources. My work with AI in underserved contexts showed me that technology is more than algorithms- it must respond to real human needs. I do this work because I want to build tools that prove to every young person in underserved communities that their ideas and talents deserve to be seen, and nurtured. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Ruzivo Research Labs

Ruzivo Research Lab is a student-led AI and machine learning research initiative at the African Leadership University. The lab focuses on developing context-aware, community-driven AI solutions for Africa in areas like healthcare, agriculture, natural language processing, and AI ethics. Our goal is to advance research that reflects African realities and make technology more accessible to underrepresented communities.
