" "I chose to work on PFAS because these ‘forever chemicals’ pose a hidden yet urgent threat to human health and the environment. As a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to transform my research on PFAS detection and awareness into actionable solutions that protect communities and promote a cleaner, safer future." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Jeevan Sankalp : Biotech for All
Jeevan Sankalp: Biotech for All is a biotechnology-driven community initiative aligned with SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. The project focuses on raising awareness about PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) contamination in water and its effects on human and environmental health. It promotes environmental health literacy by translating complex biotechnological concepts into simple, accessible knowledge for rural populations. Through community sessions, awareness drives, and visual campaigns, the project empowers people to understand water contamination risks and adopt sustainable, science-based solutions for clean and safe water.
