United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Rural Initiative for Students Empowerment (RISE)

Bridging the gap between urban and rural students based on access to basic academic necessities in Zimbabwe. The project through its various connections links potential donors towards bettering the quality of education for rural children with the students in severe need of assistance. The bridges the gap by ensuring that rural students, through donations can now afford basic things like stationery and school uniforms

About the Millennium Fellow

Blessed Moyo is a hardworking and ambitious first-generation college student. He is a Zimbabwean citizen currently in his final year of a BA Honours in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at Ashoka University in India. As a first-generation university student, Blessed is highly passionate about advancing access to quality education for all children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds and living in remote areas. As such, in January 2022, he founded the Rural Initiative for Student Empowerment (RISE) project, which has been supporting students in the Doma Community to access quality education. Having been selected as a Millennium Fellow for the class of 2025, Blessed will use the opportunity and resources to further his passion.
