" I am driven to empower the underprivileged women of rural Sonipat through Project Ambika. By creating sustainable livelihoods, we are not only addressing SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, but also upholding the core principles of the United Nations to foster a more just and equitable world. As a Millennium Fellow, I will leverage the network and skills gained to transcend the project's impact beyond Sonipat and bring about a positive change in the lives of many more women. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Ambika

Project Ambika is an initiative dedicated to
empowering rural women and supporting
children’s education through skill development,
wellness, and community engagement. Our work
focuses on building sustainable livelihoods for
women in the Sonipat region by providing them
with creative and income-generating skills.
Through collaborations with organisations like
Sukriti (Udayan Care) and Spread Smile
Foundation, we’i've hosted workshops on hygiene,
quilling, and embroidery, combining learning with
fun, interactive activities. We also set up an
Ambika and Sukriti stall during Dorm Olympics, where products made by rural women were
showcased and sold. Beyond financial impact,
the initiative helped increase visibility for local
women entrepreneurs and deepened our
understanding of what resonates with the
Ashoka community, generating ₹1,500 in sales.
Ambika continues to grow as a bridge between
education, empowerment, and entrepreneurship,
driven by the belief that small actions can create
lasting social change.
