" "I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it’s a chance to learn, grow, and work alongside people who care as deeply about change as I do. My work comes from a simple belief — that even small efforts can spark big transformations in our communities." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Sovereign Voices
My project is dedicated to elevating the voices of Indigenous communities and fighting for their rights. It focuses on the challenges they face daily. It focuses on the ongoing struggle for land and cultural preservation. Indigenous people have been denied the freedom to make decisions about their land and way of life for far too long, and this project aims to change that. I want to help bridge the gap between Indigenous communities and the rest of the world by raising awareness. It’s about recognizing their sovereignty—their right to govern themselves and protect their heritage. Through this, I will highlight critical issues such as the loss of land, environmental harm, and the erasure of Indigenous cultures. Ultimately, the goal is to empower Indigenous people to reclaim their voice and rights, so they can live with dignity and respect, and get the ability to shape their future.
