" As an Afghan girl, I've seen how hope can survive even in the hardest places. That’s why I am passionate and dedicated in equal education accessibility to each and every human regardless of their gender. The Millennium Fellowship feels like a bridge between my passion and real change, connecting me with others who believe we can turn challenges into possibilities. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Venus Foundation
I have a project by the name of Venus Foundation that supports Afghan girls living in my home country, and they do not have access to education. Through online tutorial, I try to help at least some of them to build valuable skills like English and programming so that they can use it in their professional journey and have a source of income.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nilofar Atai is an ambitious young girl who was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2004. Although she faced many severe challenges throughout her educational journey, she graduated from high school with flying colours. She was also a member of a reading club that provides financial support to labour children, even though it was limited. She also learned English academically to prepare herself for higher education abroad since she knew there was no fair opportunity for her to stay. She passed the Duolingo test with 130 score and also started teaching Afghan girls online as a volunteer. Now, she is a pre-UG student in AUW University, working hard to accomplish and learn more than the previous day.
