" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the opportunity to turn my passion for empowering youth and advancing education into real, sustainable impact for my community and beyond. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Online STEM Education for Afghan Girls
I am serving Afghan girls who lack access to formal education, especially those living in restrictive or underserved environments where schooling is limited or unavailable. The project provides them with online environmental education and STEM learning opportunities to empower them academically and socially.
During the Fellowship, I successfully developed and launched an accessible online learning program for Afghan girls aged 11–22. My main accomplishments include:
-Developed a full curriculum in environmental education and basic STEM concepts tailored to Afghan girls with limited educational access.
-Conducted online workshops that introduced participants to climate change, sustainability, and simple STEM experiments using household materials.
-Reached underserved students who face major barriers to schooling due to economic, social, or political constraints.
-Created a safe learning environment for participants to ask questions, build confidence, and explore STEM fields.
-Met the core project goal, which was to provide high-quality, accessible education online.
-Exceeded expectations in outreach, as more girls showed interest than I initially planned.
