Millennium Fellowship Project: Green dream project
The Green Dream Project is an environmental initiative launched during the Millennium Fellowship period with the mission of promoting climate resilience through large-scale tree plantation and ecological awareness. The project focuses on combating rising temperatures, reducing carbon emissions, and restoring green spaces by engaging students, volunteers, and community members in meaningful, hands-on action.
Under the Green Dream Project, suitable sites such as school grounds, community areas, and open spaces were identified for plantation. Climate-resilient and native species—including Neem, Mahogany, Rain Tree, Mango, and Jamun—were selected to ensure long-term survival and maximum environmental benefit. Volunteers participated in planting, watering, and protecting saplings while learning about the role of trees in carbon sequestration, biodiversity support, and urban heat reduction.
The initiative also emphasized education, conducting awareness discussions to inspire a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship. By combining action with advocacy, the Green Dream Project contributes directly to SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The project reflects a long-term vision: building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future—one tree at a time.
