Asian University for Women | Chattogram, Bangladesh | Advancing SDG 6 & UNAI 9

" "My passion for public health, women’s empowerment, and climate action drives my work. Being a Millennium Fellow will allow me to collaborate globally, transform my lived experiences from the tea community into meaningful solutions, and contribute to advancing the SDGs with lasting impact." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Healthy Water, Healthy Community
My project, Healthy Water, Healthy Community, serves the tea community in Sylhet, focusing especially on women, adolescents, and families who rely on unsafe water sources. These groups have limited access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation, and health education. The project aims to raise awareness about safe water practices, waterborne disease prevention, and simple hygiene behaviors to improve their daily health and overall well-being.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tonima Kairi is a dedicated public health student at the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
