Millennium Fellowship Project: CyberSafe Minds
CyberSafe Minds is a digital safety and cyber awareness initiative led under the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025, dedicated to empowering students with essential skills to navigate today’s online threats. Our project focuses on educating school and college students about AI deep fakes, online scams, safe social media habits, and digital identity protection through interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and community engagement.
The initiative aims to make young people more resilient in an increasingly complex digital world. We break down modern cyber risks into simple, relatable concepts — showing students how scammers exploit psychology, how unsafe posting affects their future, and how emerging technologies like AI can be misused. We also teach practical skills such as creating strong passwords, identifying fake websites, and recognizing manipulation through betting apps, phishing messages, and deep fake content.
Alongside awareness sessions, CyberSafe Minds is expanding into a youth-led movement by establishing chapters across institutions, engaging volunteers, and enabling ambassadors to spread cyber safety education within their own communities. Our platform cybersafeminds.org provides information, resources, and opportunities for students to join the mission.
Through this project, we aim to build a digitally responsible generation that is informed, vigilant, and capable of protecting themselves — contributing directly to safer communities and a more secure digital future.
