Millennium Fellowship Project: CIC BOND
CIC BOND is an environmental and social-impact project designed to tackle one of Cameroon’s most urgent challenges: plastic pollution. Every day, tons of plastic waste are burned or dumped in open environments, degrading ecosystems, poisoning the air, and worsening climate vulnerability—especially in urban centers like Bamenda. CIC BOND converts this plastic waste into durable, affordable, and eco-friendly construction materials (paving blocks, tiles, and cement-like compounds), using biochar to increase product strength while reducing carbon emissions.
About the Millennium Fellow
Chiambeng Ignatius Munchim Junior is a passionate leader and aspiring diplomat from Cameroon, dedicated to addressing global challenges at the intersection of international relations and climate policy. A Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the American University of Beirut, he brings experience in leadership, community service, and entrepreneurship, notably through founding a plastic recycling initiative. Fluent in English, French, and Spanish, Chiambeng blends a global outlook with a deep commitment to local impact, aiming to influence policy and foster sustainable development worldwide.
