Millennium Fellowship Project: Jagriti
Jagriti – Libraries as Equalizers is a rural education initiative aimed at transforming local libraries into inclusive, supportive learning spaces for children. The project focuses on improving literacy, communication and socio-emotional skills through structured workshops, tutoring for children and capacity-building for library staff. Jagriti especially prioritises children from disadvantaged backgrounds and children with special needs, ensuring that every child has access to equal learning opportunities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Naliveni Sai Charan Teja is an undergraduate at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, majoring in Social Science , minoring in Economics and Education. As a first generation learner in his family, he brings a strong sense of belongingness towards the community he is living. As a student of Social Science and Education, he is more into building and developing reading and writing skills for children who are being discriminated in one or another way. His project aims the same, creating a positive learning space for everyone irrespective of gender, caste, religion, colour or intellectual abilities where collaborative learning will be in top place. He always wanted to be a part of and engage in activities that drives towards social change. He wants to make positive impact through his leadership.
