Millennium Fellowship Project: Last Mile Access
My project focuses on spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene and also promoting the use of safe and eco-friendly menstrual products, such as reusable cloth pads and menstrual cups.
I was successfully able to conduct awareness workshops where women and girls from rural areas got to discuss the topic of menstruation, which is usually considered taboo openly. I also introduced them to sustainable menstrual products, which a lot of women were interested in using. I was able to take the first step toward breaking the taboo surrounding menstruation by creating a safe and supportive space. Through this project, I realised that, along with awareness, access and affordability also play a role.
