" For the past 2 years, I observed that accommodations teams on campuses are frequently overlooked, and there is an obvious lack of appreciation for the hard work they do. My own experiences and observations led me to volunteer through the medium I am most passionate about, art. My mentor acknowledged my talent and encouraged me to pursue the same via a well-recognised certification course, where I found myself surrounded by a like-minded community that believed in the power of art in healing communities. Often, when doing work with children, I have observed a plethora of unmet needs, health being one of the major issues. I would like to highlight poor dental hygiene as a concern across communities, which can lead to severe co-morbidities. This issue is challenging to address, but through this platform, I feel empowered to tackle the issue with the support and advice of my peers and mentors, by primarily using education as a tool to raise awareness.
