" When asked about my "why",my reflex reply is: Why not?
Why not build a world where everyone has the chance to thrive, a world where no potential is squandered by poverty?
As a medical student,I see firsthand just how closely poverty and health are linked. We lose countless bright minds to its devastating effects every single day.
For me, the answer lies in financial education, because financial literacy is often overlooked ,yet it holds the power to break cycles of poverty. I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow as I believe it will provide the opportunity to connect with like-minded change-makers and gain skills to transform my initiative into a sustainable project that empowers communities and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Millennium Fellowship Project: For Kids Initiative

You know how a lot of us didn’to learn anything about money until we were much older like budgeting, saving, or even what taxes are? I think it’s something kids should learn early, especially in rural areas where they might not get that kind of exposure. So, my project is all about going into secondary schools and teaching students how to manage money in simple, relatable ways. Since my university is in a rural area, I already have access to some of these schools. I’ll be using a curriculum I put together, but I’ll adjust how I teach based on their age simple terms and fun examples for younger students, and more detailed stuff like taxes for older ones. For the senior students, I’m planning to team up with the Tax Club and other finance related clubs on campus to help out. Each visit will just be for a day, but it’i'll be interactive talks, role-plays, and little activities where they can act out what they’i've learned. At the end, we’ll do a quick quiz or a case scenario to see how much they understood.
