Bayero University | Kano, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 6 & UNAI 3

" Passion for public health, research, and sustainable healthcare solutions drives my work. Being a part of the Millennium Fellowship will strengthen my leadership and collaborative skills to advance these goals. The skills I gain from the Millennium Fellowship will make my impact on healthcare access and community well-being more tangible and aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. I am excited to enhance my capacity to design and implement innovative health initiatives that address pressing community needs. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Health Awareness for Life
My project, Health Education for All, focused on making health information accessible and understandable for everyone in my community, primarily through online platforms. I identified a significant gap in basic health knowledge—especially in areas such as nutrition, mental well-being, and disease prevention—which often contributes to preventable health problems.
To address this, I designed and delivered a series of online educational activities. These included virtual interactive sessions, infographics, short videos, and simplified health guides shared through social media, WhatsApp groups, and community online forums. The materials were easy to read and tailored to the local audience, ensuring that even individuals with limited health literacy could benefit.
Although some participants were reached offline, the project was conducted mainly through digital channels, which helped me engage people who could not attend physical gatherings. Through this approach, I was able to empower community members to make informed decisions about their health and overall well-being.
This completed initiative directly supports SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) by promoting accessible health education and reflects UNAI Principle 3 by ensuring inclusive and equitable access to learning opportunities for all.
