Millennium Fellowship Project: Improving Higher Education Access in Waco
The Improving Higher Education Access in Waco initiative partnered with AVID, an international program focused on providing college education prep to students with limited resources. Fellows each mentored two middle or high school students in the Waco community on what college looks like, how to succeed in college, fellows delivered presentations to over 8 local schools. and hosted an on-campus college day where students aged 12-17 came to Baylor University for a day, attended classes, and engaged in classroom activities.
About the Millennium Fellow
Nicole Day is a senior at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, USA, pursuing a double major in Economics and Finance. Having lived in various regions both across the United States and abroad, she has developed a strong passion for community development and resource distribution. Nicole is dedicated to improving quality of life through her work as a grant writing consultant and her involvement with several philanthropic foundations. Through her project, she aims to expand access to educational resources in her region, helping empower her community to thrive.
