" Working with others who are as passionate about projects as much as I am will be an incredible opportunity, and with my versatility and leadership, I will be able to build my skills as a Millennium Fellow. What I learn and skills I acquire from the Millennium Fellowship will guide my impact on not only my university's community but every community I am part of in my personal and professional life. I am ecstatic to learn from other fellows and leaders to build my creativity and leadership skills, and I cannot wait to make a difference! "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Voices of Vision
The BSLCE has always dreamed of finding a way to tell everyone who we are and how we do what we do. The impact the BSLCE has had on dozens of dozens of people from Bentley University to each and every community we introduce ourselves to. The Bentley Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Center has accomplished so much from creating and implementing many different programs in communities all over Waltham and nearby cities to running events and opportunities for the Bentley community to spread awareness of how we can make a change in our lives. Telling "our story" will provide insight into how impactful the BSLCE has been and the many different perspectives of not only students, but alumni, faculty members, staff partners, and community partners. By taking the concept of what we learn in the classroom, implementing it into the community, and taking what we learn back into the classroom, we can understand why service-learning is such an amazing concept to share with the world.
About the Millennium Fellow
Raeanna Dallaire-Boogaard is a passionate, intelligent, and dedicated student studying Accounting and Management at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She is from Burlington, Massachusetts and has lived there until moving to Tewksbury, Massachusetts; she is a Boston girl through and through! For as long as she could remember, Raeanna has always had a drive and passion about helping others, and this includes making sure others who are not as fortunate as some have access to basic necessities like food and ensuring companies and businesses are doing everything to ensure fair prices, decent working conditions, and sustainable practices for workers. During high school, Raeanna volunteered at her local food pantry to help people in need of food get the necessary supplies they needed. Volunteering at a food pantry only drove Raeanna's passion even deeper, and she has worked throughout her college years to volunteer at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, which has driven her to become more involved with giving back to the community and helping build relationships with the children. She is part of the Fair Trade Task Force at Bentley University, and this group helps Bentley University on its path to becoming the first business school in the U.S. to be Fair Trade Certified! Through her contributions and strong leadership, Raeanna aspires to use her resources and passion to continue giving back to the community throughout her personal and professional life in the future.
