The total contribution of the garment industries to the national foreign exchange earnings of Bangladesh is 83%. Though the garment sector has created massive employment for female workers, female workers face numerous human rights violations at the workplace including sexual harassment, maternity leave problems and health problem etc. In a research about 77% of the women garment workers said they did not know about Bangladesh’s National Human Rights Commission. This is the major concerning issue of our project. Our university is located at Mirpur which is a significant hub for Dhaka's garment industries. Around 235 small & medium sized garments manufacturing units are located here. So we are aiming to educate & make aware the female workers of these garment industries about their rights. We will visit these garments & make seminars to talk with them. If we get enough funding from our targeted sources than we hope to give them some money as an incentive. Moreover, we are also aiming to provide adolescence education, sex education to the younger female workers. Briefly, as a responsible youth of this country we are dedicated to ensure a women friendly working environment in several garment industries near to our varsity campus.
