Millennium Fellowship Project: IMHYA: Improving Mental Health in Young Adults
"IMHYA is a youth-led mental health initiative. The project focuses on helping students understand common mental health challenges, reducing stigma, and providing practical tools they can use in their daily lives.
Through workshops, peer listening circles, and digital awareness campaigns, IMHYA makes mental health education accessible, relatable, and culturally sensitive. IMHYA aims to build a supportive community where young adults feel seen, heard, and safe enough to speak up about their struggles. The long-term vision is to create a sustainable model that can continue even beyond the fellowship."
About the Millennium Fellow
Lawal Mariam Gold is a passionate Individual and student leader that has devoted her time to solving environmental issues,like poor waste management systems. She has grown compassionate about environmental activism and social impact as a result of her personal experiences, leadership experiences and academic stride. She strongly believes that issues on poor waste management systems can be solved by one person, one family and one community at a time. Gold strives to inspire her peers and people around her to actively participate in solving raging global issues while using creativity and teamwork to foster long lasting change.
